Artists Corner
There are a lot of talented people at
Starlight Tower either because of their elected professions or hobbies in
general covering a wide variety in the fields of literature writing stories
or poems as well as in arts painting drawing sculpting woodworking masonry
flower arranging and so forth. And I think maybe I can safely add the sacred
art of high velocity haute cuisine. Why not knitting crosseting tatting or
embroidery? So I thought maybe is a good idea to add a section in our
website where Starlighters can proudly display their achievements in
whatever field they are engaged. I sincerely hope that shortly will be able
to accumulate a good ensemble representative of your works of art and learn
a little bit more about you, our neighbor. And certainly we will subdivide
our arts section accordingly to cover all subjects.
Warning!
Strictly for illustration purposes, bellow
are displayed some things I have done. This is NOT meant to be a personal
website but one that represents ALL of us. So I do apologize for the content
as pitiful as it is but is a good example of a visual exercise for both of
us: You contributing by displaying your work here and myself as your
internet architect making sure our website not only has good and solid
foundation to build on many beautiful layers just as our beloved building
and home sweet home Starlight Tower. And If you suspect I have a love affair
just like all of you with that building, you are absolutely correct.

Painting illustrates sunset view from Starlight Tower's 9th floor. I did
this painting 2 years ago before the St Pete Beach re-nourishment project
started as you can tell by the absence of groins and open space at the rocks
at the entrance of Blind Pass.
To post more examples and for expedience purposes I just grabbed my camera
and bellow is the result. Please send me your material so I can remove all
below.

The fountain at our Durham NH home where I got the idea from a public park
on Park Boulevard with the difference that the Floridian fountain on top has
a lady pouring water down on the fountain if I remember correctly. Evangelos
and myself built the fountain and in addition I contributed the decorative
tablets.

Detail of decorative plaque at the base of the fountain. Initially I had to
create the original in plaster then made a mold primarily because it had to
be done from concrete otherwise would not last a NH winter and secondly
because I needed several of these plaques to adorn the base all around. The
design in the plaque depicts Zeus's 2 griffins guarding the light of
knowledge.

Concrete plaque with Acropolis in the background while Pericles speeks to
the Athenians. Same procedure as above in creating this plaque.

The decorations on top of this window also made with concrete and same
procedure.

Concrete mural on the base of a window consisting of several plaques out of
Greek Mythololy.

Detail of concrete Caryatis or Caryatids as seen on the Acropolis
Erechtheion and temples throughout Greece, female-shaped columns named after
Goddess Artemis, supporting the roof. Well, in my case they do
not support the roof but I like them just the same.

Detail of another concrete plaque also borrowed and copied out of the Greek
Mythology and same technique.
Your pictures and description of your work to be placed here is urgently
needed
