Gulf Side Restoration
Pictures
May
24, 2008: Fellow Starlighters, here are some
additional restoration pictures showing the West wall of
Starlight Tower facing the Gulf of Mexico side.
The pictures bellow are offered courtesy of George Wolff and Gigi
Guthrie of #208.
Quoting
some of George's remarks: "As you can see they have had to remove
windows in unit #208 (us) because of deep beam damage that seems
to extend upwards several floors, judging from the stucco
chipped away. This is where the worst interior leaking was. The
contractors anticipate requiring many unit owners to remove
windows or storm shutters where similar problems are found. The
second photo is fairly alarming. This shows only a fraction of
the red trouble sports surrounding balconies that weren’t
enclosed by windows. Work there will be extensive."
Thank
you very much Gigi and George and please keep these pictures coming!

The pictures bellow are intended for moral boosting and to
appreciate how lucky we are discovering the problems we had and
taking care of those immediately.
There are two pictures of a beach front building in Pass a
Grille being restored by Wilson Kehoe that will give us a sense
of perspective. Pictures taken by George and quoting him: "If
we think we have structural problems, you should see these
shots. They’ll silence anybody who thinks salt invasion is a
problem we should ignore or delay."
