Notice of Intent with short Background Information
I,
Mary J. Dickinson, hereby place my name in nomination as
a candidate for the Board of Directors.
I am

I am
an owner since 1991 with my son Dennis.
I
have run my own business for 47 years which has given me a lot
of common sense.
I
can be available most of the time.
I
live in Florida (St. Pete) from October to May or June.
Also, I am willing to do any task.
Mary J. Dickinson, #801
(Webmaster's note:
The Candidate has listed her phone number as well but
for obvious reasons I have not posted it here.
You can either email
me at
webmaster@starlight-tower.com to obtain it or call any
of the Interim Board members).
CANDIDATE:
Mrs. MARLENE REID
Background Information
I have submitted my
name as a nominee for election to the Starlight Tower Board of
Directors scheduled for the Annual Meeting, April 17, 2007.
I would like to se
the record straight!
It has been
rumored around Starlight Tower that I am opposed to Starlight's
restoration project.
Nothing could be
farther from the truth!
Besides being out of
City compliance, it is obvious that Starlight needs more than a
facelift, that restoration to deal with our chloride/corrosion
problem is in order.
My husband, Dan, and
I asked many questions throughout the process, but that was
because so many facets of the project were vague, options hadn't
been thoroughly researched, nor recommendations explained.
The bottom line is
that we always wanted what is best for Starlight, and best for
our investment, even though it might turn out to be the most
expensive solution.
I seeking answers to
our many questions, and solutions to the many problems that had
surfaced, we constantly assured other Starlighters that
knowledge and information should not be threatening, but
enlightening, and that we needed to make sure we didn't end up
being "penny-wise and pound foolish".
After much
correspondence, and many hours (and expense) spent on
long-distance inquiries seeking additional info, we now have had
our questions answered.
I approve of the
present interim Board's efforts to move forward with the project
in the immediate future.
There have been
kinks, and insufficient information, in the proposed contracts.
Negotiations
demanding and time-consuming as the Board endeavors to make
certain all concerns have been addressed , and discrepancies
resolved, before signing contracts.
The obvious goal is
to get Starlight restored and brought into City compliance as
soon as possible.
Building on that
groundwork, I would work to continue and complete the process
the present Board has begun.
For other information
about my experience and background please refer to the sheet I
submitted in January when I announced my nomination at that
time.
If you have
questions, please call me at *xxx-xxx-xxxx.
I ask for your
vote!
Thank you!
Marlene Reid #201
& #202
